Emergency numbers

Tourist Police

Police who help foreign visitors in tourist areas such as Myeongdong, Hongdae and Itaewon. For overcharging, lost or stolen items, visit a nearby center or call 1330.

Finding lost items

Search items found anywhere in Korea on the police's "Minwon24" site, available in many languages (Seoul subway lines 1–9 also post here). Info line 182 (weekdays 09:00–18:00, +82-182 from a foreign SIM). You can also report a loss at any police station — no documents or fees needed.

Lost your card?

Call your card company right away to block it. For Visa cards, use the Korea toll-free numbers below. For other cards, use the lost-card number on your issuer's app or website. If it was stolen, also report it to 112.

Lost your passport?

  1. Report the loss at the nearest police station (free), and ask for a record of your report.
  2. Contact your embassy (list below) for a new passport or an emergency travel document. What you need and how long it takes depends on the embassy.
  3. Before flying out on the new document, check with 1345 whether you need to do anything with immigration.
